武钢于1969年结合我国富有资源,试制成功并生产了含铜高硅低合金钢轨钢。轨型采用我国自己设计的每米重为45公斤的新型断面。这种钢轨不仅强度较大(≥92公斤/毫米~2),硬度高(轨头基体硬度≥280HB),可不淬火使用。而且冲击韧性和塑性良好,同时,还具有一定的耐大气腐蚀性能。新轨型与原有43公斤/米型断面相比,具有足够的稳定性,较大的耐磨性和防疲劳缺陷等优点。各项室内性能检验和铺设使用实践表明:该钢轨各项性能稳定,耐磨耐压耐冲击,接头良好,震动小,线路稳定,列车通过平稳,轨腰轨底腐蚀较轻,是一个优良的钢轨品种。目前已大量生产,用于援建坦桑尼亚——赞比亚铁路和国内社会主义建设。
