WWF(世界自然基金会)是在全球享有盛誉的.最大的独立性非政府环境保护组织之一.自1961年成立以来.WWF一直致力于环保事业.在全世界拥有将近520万支持者和一个在100多个国家活跃着的网络。WWF在中国的工作始于1980年的大熊猫及其栖息地的保护,是第一个受中国政府邀请来华开展保护工作的国际非政府组织。1996年,WWF正式成立北京办事处.此后陆续在全国八个城市建立了办公室。发展至今.共拥有80多名员工.项目领域也由大熊猫保护扩大到物种保护、淡水和海洋生态系统保护与可持续利用、森林保护与可持续经营、可持续发展教育、气候变化与能源、野生物贸易、科学发展与国际政策等领域。“全球森林贸易网络(中国)”(GFTN China)项目是WWF的森林项目之一,旨在中国遏制非法木材采伐和贸易并推行可信赖的森林认证。森林管理委员会(FSC)认证是目前WWF认为是唯一最可信赖的认证体系。为了让读者更深层次地了解WWF的“全球森林贸易网络(中国)”项目,本刊深入这个环保组织背后.以专题形式为读者记录他们为环保、为森林的可持续发展所做的点点滴滴。
WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) is one of the world’s prestigious and largest independent non-governmental environmental protection organizations .WF has been committed to environmental protection since its establishment in 1961.Worldwide has nearly 5.2 million supporters and one An active network in more than 100 countries. WWF’s work in China began with the protection of the giant panda and its habitat in 1980 and was the first international non-governmental organization invited by the Chinese government to carry out conservation work in China. WWF formally established Beijing office in 1996. Since then, eight offices in the country have been set up. It has a total staff of more than 80.
