I have been abroad four times. My first visit to the United States was in 1986. I passed the TOEFL test and got a scholarship from the University of Southern Illinois to pursue a doctorate in the graduate school. Under normal circumstances, it has been very difficult to admit directly to a doctoral degree by a U.S. school (although I have a master’s degree), not to mention a few assistant professorships. The so-called Assistant Teaching Scholarship, which amounts to more than 800 U.S. dollars per month, is equivalent to twice the living allowance of visiting scholars dispatched by our government, leaving many people envious. After a year of studying, I got the full A score and the school decided that I would continue to provide teaching assistant scholarship until I completed my doctoral studies. Two years later, I completed the compulsory course of my Ph.D., and almost all of them were A, winning the honors of American professors. Just as I was going to sprint to the final stage of the doctoral degree, Professor Ding Zemin, my tutor in my country, I wrote a few long letters, I hope I can return home to help him complete
