采访胡晓明先生是件很不容易的事,身为香港菱电集团的执行董事,他每天要处理许多公司的大小事务,菱电集团在海内外有近30家分子联营公司,每年他总有不少时间在天上飞来飞去,同时他又担任好多社会公职,热诚地为社会服务。 他今年47岁,会五种语言,身为富家子弟,却从不摆架子,给人一种踏实勤奋的感觉。他说,作为一家公司的负责人,除了做生意做业务之外,还应当为社会服务尽一份力。这么多年来,他是这么想也是这么做的,其中最叫他津津乐道的就是网球及香港的体育事业。 出生于网球世家的胡晓明,从小就对体育情有独钟。早在二十世纪初,他的祖父胡宪生国外留学把网球带回了国内,从此也让国人认识了网球。他的父亲胡法光也是个球迷。从小受父辈的影响,胡晓明也迷上网球。他甚至说他是在网球场上长大的。在国外读书时他曾是美国加州大学网球队的队员,回香港后他也曾入选香港代表队。1988年他加入了亚洲网球协会并担任秘书长(1999年转任副会长),1998年又出任香港康体局市场传讯委员会主席。这10多年来,他为香港的体育发展立下了汗马功劳,为表彰他在发展香港的体育事业作出的贡献,去年他亦获香港特别行政区政府委任为太平绅士。 我们的话题也就围绕体育而展开。

His father, Hu Faguang, is also a fan. Influenced by his father since childhood, Hu Xiaoming also fell in love with tennis. He even said he grew up on the tennis court. When studying abroad, he was a member of the University of California tennis team, he returned to Hong Kong, he was also named Hong Kong team. He joined the Asian Tennis Association in 1988 as Secretary General (Vice-Chairman in 1999) and Chairman of the Marketing Communications Committee of the Hong Kong Leisure Sport Bureau in 1998. For over 10 years, he has made great contributions to the development of sports in Hong Kong. In recognition of his contribution to the development of sports in Hong Kong, he was also appointed as a JP by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region last year.
