CIO是为组织的个性系统而服务的,不是一个单一特质就能表达的职位,许多人试图从战略型、管理型和技术型这个维度去区分,或者从必备的能力角度去要求,从我在这个岗位上几年的实践来看,不是那么简单的。首席信息官与首席执行官以及其他CXO的最大区别是他必须是从信息这个角度、载体去认识和解决问题。在企业的大部分资源与经营活动,只有信息这样的东西才能统一,这恰是信息化之所以成为企业的重要选择的根本原因。构建一个统一的系统,并保证系统的统一,是信息化的真正价值所在。在这样的基本认识前提下,我们可以认定,CIO的使命是一切为了系统,只有首先回答清楚这个问题,才有资格去谈怎么做CIO。
