国立武汉大学早期建筑是中国近代建筑史上的重要作品,但学术界对校园总设计师开尔斯一直所知甚少。本文结合国内外有关开尔斯的记载,以及在美国国家档案馆和国会图书馆查到的新材料,对开尔斯的家世、教育情况和在中国的游历进行考证,并对他的两项设计作品——中山陵设计竞赛和武大早期建筑加以分析。 National Wuhan University early architecture is an important work in the history of modern Chinese architecture, but the academy has always been little known to the campus designer Kells. Based on the domestic and foreign records of Kersch and the new materials found in the National Archives and Library of Congress, this article conducts research on Kales' family life, education and traveling in China, and compares his two Design work - Sun Yat-sen's design competition and Wu early buildings to be analyzed.
