北江是珠江流域第二大水系,是粵北地区与珠三角唯一水运通道,航运地位突出。但目前北江航道等级偏低,航道条件不够稳定,难以满足沿岸地区的货物运输需求,航道等级亟待提升。加快推进北江扩能升级。是有力启动珠江—西江经济带发展建设的需要,是加快打造珠江黄金水道“升级版”的需要。
The Beijiang River is the second largest river system in the Pearl River Basin and the only waterway connecting northern Guangdong with the PRD. Its shipping status is outstanding. However, at present, the grade of Beijiang waterway is low and the conditions of waterway are not stable enough to meet the needs of freight transportation in the coastal areas. The grade of waterway needs to be improved urgently. Accelerate the expansion of North River to upgrade. It is the need to vigorously start the development and construction of the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt and is the need to speed up the construction of the Pearl River golden waterway “Upgrading Edition.”
