日本当代禅学大师铃木大拙,在南怀瑾先生眼里仅是学者禅而已。我国当代国学大师季羡林、张中行、金克木先生,爱谈禅,但他们没有以禅师自居,季先生称自己“属于‘野狐’一类”(《人生絮语》第3页,浙江人民版),张先生被人误以为居士(因有专著《禅外说禅》),他也不置可否。金先生也曾自嘲:“难得有缘人说法,易于无佛处称尊。” Suzumu, a master of contemporary Zen Buddhism in Japan, is only a scholar Zen in the eyes of Nan Huaijin.
