(2) Observation of Metal Clusters Catalysts The study of metal cluster compounds has special significance in the study of catalyst structure and catalytic mechanism. Previous experimental and theoretical analysis indicates that a cluster containing 2 to 100 atoms in a cluster may have unique bulk and surface properties that are not found in any other solid form. For example, when the number of atoms in a cluster increases from one to several hundred atoms, the energy levels of atoms or molecules gradually change into energy bands.
