A recent study by the Boston University School of Medicine found that people who drink sweeteners daily have a 3 times greater risk of dementia and stroke than those who drink only once a week. The team selected nearly 4,400 adult participants and asked them which artificial sweeteners they had added to their drinks. Most of the sweeteners used in these sugar-free beverages are saccharin, acesulfame, aspartame and sucralose. The results of the analysis showed that people who drink sweetener-added carbonated drinks every day are more likely to drink in the next 10 years than those who drink them daily
