Pottery is an important research object of archeology. The archeology of pottery has gradually broken through the typological limitations, and its production techniques and social meanings have drawn more and more attention. One of the hot issues in the academic trend of exploring the connection between pottery technology and social issues is the relationship between pottery and handicraft production, especially the production organization of pottery. The specialization of handicraft production is often thought to be linked to a larger research topic, the process of social complication. Specialization in handicrafts may also imply the existence of an elite class of professional artisans who often possess superior skills in the production of elaborate pottery or other luxury
