在中国,提及最家喻户晓的外国领导人,法国前总统希拉克绝对名列前茅。他曾担任三任巴黎市长、两任法国总统,从政40余年,是法国政坛上的“常青树”。尽管现在已退居幕后,且身体欠佳,但民调显示,他始终是受法国民众爱戴的政治家,支持率高达74%。2011年12月15日,这位前总统因挪用公款、滥用职权等罪名,被判处两年有期徒刑,缓期执行,开创了法国首个前任总统被判刑的先例。
In China, referring to the most well-known foreign leader, former French President Jacques Chirac is the best. He has served as the three mayors of Paris, two French presidents, has been in power for more than 40 years and is an “evergreen tree” on the French political arena. Although now behind the scenes and in poor health, opinion polls show he has always been a politician loved by the French people, with a support rate as high as 74%. On December 15, 2011, the former president was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and suspended execution on charges of misappropriating public funds and abusing his power, setting a precedent for being sentenced by the first former president of France.
