二滩水电厂按“无人值班”(少人值守)的管理方式进行设计。为适应这种管理方式,该电站采用了先进的微机发变组保护装置(REG 216),在我国几家电厂应用,是较成熟产品。该保护采用多 CPU 并行工作方式,软硬件采用模块化设计,且具有信息处理、故障记录、人机接口和完善的软、硬件自检功能,通过软硬件灵活组态易于实现冗余及复杂配置。此外还配有故障录波分析装置,可以开关量启动,也可以模拟量启动,这对于电厂运行管理、事故分析以及远方监控都是十分必要的。该电站发变组继电保护装置克服了某些常规保护中存在的缺陷和不足,其可靠性较高。
