Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) are a set of reference values developed on the basis of the recommended dietary supply (RDA) and their use differs from traditional RDA. To reflect the role of the new reference value in DRI, the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine of the United States introduced in detail the application of DRI in dietary assessment in 2000. The abstract of this article has compiled the specific application and calculation formula of DRI in evaluating the suitability of dietary intake of individuals or groups.
