甜高粱亦称芦粟,是普通高粱的变种。甜高粱是C_4作物中光合作用效率最高的作物之一,是一种高能作物,能量效应比较高,抗逆性强,适应性广,光合能力强,增产潜力大,经济效益高。其茎秆汁液多,食糖量高,在成熟时,茎秆出汁率高达45—75%,食糖量为18—20%,转化糖比甘蔗高3—5倍,蛋白质比玉米高8.7%,脂肪比玉米高176.4%。此外,还含有无氮化合物、灰分、粗纤维、维生素A等。甜高粱生物产量高,粒秆双收。
