世人瞩目的以色列大选结果业已揭晓,现任总理佩雷斯败走“麦城”,他的竞选对手、利库德集团领导人内塔尼亚胡以微弱多数当选以新总理。这一结果犹如平地一声惊雷,国际社会为之一震,阿拉伯国家忧心忡忡,世人对中东和谈前景无不感到担忧和迷惘。内塔尼亚胡在竞选中承诺给以色列人带来安全及和平,但他却使世界不少地方感到紧张和不安。
The world-renowned outcome of the Israeli election has been announced. The incumbent Prime Minister Peres has defeated “Mecca” and his opponent. Netanyahu, the leader of the Likud group, has been elected by a weak majority to the new Prime Minister. The result is like a thunderbolt on the flat ground. The international community is shocked and the Arab countries are worried. The world fears and confuses the prospect of peace talks in the Middle East. Netanyahu promised to bring security and peace to the Israelis during the campaign, but he was nervous and uncomfortable in many parts of the world.
