As a popular folk art around the lotus in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, the Lishui drums originated in the Tang Dynasty when Li Shimin was proclaimed Emperor. After the liberation in order to enrich the cultural life of the masses, the CPC Central Committee’s cultural department has repeatedly organized personnel to learn Lishui words. From the 1960s to the 1970s, due to the ban on “Cultural Revolution”, the lyrics of Lishui were limited and were not restored until the 1980s. As a form of local niche culture, the protection of Lishui dynasty has been urgently needed. This article starts with the history and content of Lishui Drums, analyzes the present situation of Lishui Drums, and studies the protective measures of Lishui Drums.
