一个经理该怎样作出IT决策呢?回答之前应该先看看以下几个问题:1这种系统果真是战略性的吗?我们发现,大多数经理认为他们的系统是战略性的,但事实并非如此。在我们研究的公司中,只有两种系统使公司有别于它们的竞争对手。经理们常常犯这样的错误:某种职能如果是战略性的,那么支持它的信息系统也就是战略性的。经理们试图通过投资于特别的设备和客户化的软件,建立一个战略性的系统。然而我们发现,即使他们投入了很多的钱,他们的系统也不能使自己超越竞争对手,尤其是当他们的对手也开发了类似系统的时候。
How should a manager make IT decisions? Before answering the question, you should look at the following questions: 1 Is this system really strategic? We found that most managers consider their systems to be strategic, but that's not the case . Only two of the systems we studied differentiated the company from their competitors. Managers often make the mistake that if a function is strategic, the information system that supports it is strategic. Managers are trying to establish a strategic system by investing in special equipment and customized software. However, we found that even if they invested a lot of money, their systems could not outperform their competitors, especially when their rivals developed similar systems.
