我国公路,尤其是高速公路近十年来发展很快,高速公路总里程已位居世界第二,并以惊人的速度发展,其中90%以上为黑色路面。长期以来,沥青路面的大面积维修一般采用开挖重铺的办法,高速公路的大面积维修基本上也采用了这种传统的开挖重铺法,只是开挖方式由大型铣刨机代替了人工开挖,将大量的废料作为垃圾处理,同时用相应的混合料去修复,造成大量的浪费。如果按照沥青路面的设计寿命(15~20年)我国90年代以后陆续建成的高速公路已经进入大、中修期,每年有12%的沥青路面需要翻新,旧沥青路面的废弃量已经达到200万吨以上,1989年-2002年我
