建立种子园、母树林，最重要的是获得优良性状的遗传增益。本文通过永仁县白马河林场子代测定林的试验，用“滇中云南松天然优良林分的选择标准和方法”选择出的优良林分，其速生的树高生长量的遗传力为７６％，丰产的蓄积生长量遗传力为４７．４８％，遗传增益为３６．４４％，已经超出项目要求３％的水平。用该方法及标准选择出来的云南松优良林分，可以经过人工改造、建立母树林，用母树林的种子造林，可以改变云南松林分中树干弯曲及木材纹理扭曲的不良特性，还可以提高云南松林分的木材产量。
