吴冰一到北京就给我们一个非常新的印象,这印象不是来自于他个人,而是来自于他的画面。他的画面给我的感觉。第一,他的花鸟画大部分都很大,那尺幅远远超过我们对花鸟画的认识,因为我们无论在古典绘画里面,还是当代花鸟画里面看到的尺幅都很小。浙江和南京的花鸟画比较发达,但是也都不大,多半是玩赏性的、把玩性的一个尺寸。我想对花鸟画的突破想在这两个省之内完成,是非常有难度的,因为他们在这方面的传统太强大,反而从边缘突破可能是一条途径。

That scale far exceeds our knowledge of flowers and birds because we can see small scales in both classical paintings and contemporary flowers and birds paintings. Zhejiang and Nanjing flowers and birds more developed, but also not large, mostly playful, playing a size of sex. I think the breakthrough of flowers and birds painting would like to be completed in these two provinces. It is very difficult because their tradition in this area is too strong. On the contrary, the breakthrough from the periphery may be a way forward.
