清初情欲论中的“重学”、“崇礼”思想成为荀学由“潜”而“显”的重要表征。清儒以自然情欲论而重视外在知识学习、积累对情欲“向善”的引导作用,由探寻情欲的有效规约而尊崇礼学,其中的荀学因子确然闪现。在清初学风由“尊德性”而“道问学”转轨过程中,荀子思想的“时代义理”被重新阐发,促进了清代“道问学”传统的确立,成为荀学在近代复兴的前奏。
