The authors studied the thyroid function of two groups of pregnant women, a group consisting of 12 singleton pregnant women and 12 pregnant women who had twin pregnancies due to metachronous ovulation and in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer. Another group of 39 multiple births (3 to 8 fetuses), pregnant women by twins to retain twins.
