大公滑稽戏剧团演出的《七十二家房客》,通过一个侧面,暴露了旧上海的黑暗面,鞭策了反动阶级人物可卑的丑恶面目,它显示出千疮百孔的旧上海注定要走向灭亡。故事发生在解放前一个拥挤不堪的上海弄堂房子里。弄堂房子,就好像是北京的大杂院。这里居住着各式各样的下层小市民,有皮匠、裁缝、洗衣服的、卖大饼的、卖香烟的、走江湖的医生、丫头、舞女等等。他们大多依靠出卖自己微薄的劳动力,在饥饿或半饥饿的生活线上挣扎。
The “Seventy-two Tenants,” a performance performed by the duke of TaiKong, exposes the dark side of old Shanghai on one side and spurs the ugly face of the reactionary class.
