众所周知,发射航天器的运载火箭一般是“脚踏实地”,即从地面起飞的。然而近些年来,随着科技的发展和实际需求的变化,开始出现了一些别开生面的发射方式例如,美国已多次用飞机携带运载火箭到空中发射,这种火箭可称为空射火箭;俄罗斯则于1998年7月7日用潜艇在水下成功发射了一颗10千克的微型卫星,它可叫作潜射火箭。1998年10月,又有一种新颖的发射方式问世,即在海上平台上发射火箭,故可简称为海射火箭。由于这种发射方式具有一系列无与伦比的优越性,能与当代运载火箭的“大哥大”——阿丽亚娜“叫扳”,所以引起全球航天界的极大关注。
