測定粉狀固体物質粒子的大小,在橡膠、油漆等工業部門中以及若干粉碎、研磨的工藝上是一個很重要的因素,但作为观察研究此項因素的控制方法却不多。过去沿用的多为沉降容量法,即是把要研究的物質浸入盛滿液体介質的刻度容器中,於一定間隔時間讀取粒子下沉的容積。这是一种較粗糙的方法,只能研究較粗大的粒子作相对比較,且讀數誤差頗大。苏联費右羅夫斯基院士創議用重量沉降分析法,設計了一個極簡單的儀器,如圖1所示;此儀器可以自己製作,作者初步使用的結果頗为滿意,茲介紹如下。
