20世纪杰出的作曲家肖斯塔科维奇创作的《第一小提琴协奏曲》堪称20世纪小提琴协奏曲的经典,该作品作于1947～1948年之间,由于作曲家正处于前苏联第三次思想批判的政治旋涡之中,所以创作完成后无法立即公演。直至1953年,斯大林逝世后形势渐渐宽松,《第一小提琴协奏曲》才在1955年10月29日举行了首演式。主奏小提琴家是此曲的题献者大卫·奥依斯特拉赫,他是肖斯塔科维奇的挚友,也是他十分尊敬的小提琴演奏家,协奏乐队是列宁格勒爱乐乐团；指挥为肖斯塔科维奇作品的权威诠释者叶夫根尼·姆拉文斯基。
The first violin concerto by Shostakovich, a twentieth-century composer, is a classic of the 20th century violin concerto, which was made between 1947 and 1948.
