Grinding is one of the most basic types of finishing methods for metals and is especially important for modern machine building. The importance of metal grinding continues to grow with the widespread use of high-strength hardened steels and the latest thermal processing methods. These thermal processing methods such as precision stamping, and die casting, leaving the least machining allowance. Soviet science was the first to solve a number of important problems in the theory of metal grinding and in the method of removing sand from the diamond car. This is also true in the field of theoretical research and practical application of high-speed grinding. The high-speed cutting of metals, including high-speed grinding, is a new and powerful method of increasing labor productivity and is an extremely important factor in particular for the further development of the advanced Soviet machine-building industry.
