在风光秀丽的上海佘山脚下,总体性能名列全球第四、亚洲第一的上海65米射电望远镜正式落成。中国科学院上海天文台在佘山基地举行了隆重的落成仪式。与直接成像的光学天文望远镜不同,射电天文望远镜的工作原理,是通过接收天体的射电波来确定遥远天体的结构。建设大型射电望远镜系统涉及多个技术领域,是一个国家科技实力的体现。
At the foot of the beautiful Sheshan in Shanghai, the overall performance ranked fourth in the world, and the first Shanghai 65-meter radio telescope in Asia was officially completed. Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of Chinese Academy of Sciences held a grand ceremony at the base of Sheshan. Unlike direct imaging optical telescopes, the working principle of radio telescopes is to determine the structure of distant celestial bodies by receiving radio waves from celestial bodies. The construction of a large radio telescope system involves a number of technical fields and is a manifestation of the strength of a country’s science and technology.
