Among the top 25 North American east coast regions reported in the 2006 Freight Statistics Report, less than half of airports increased by more than 1%. Eleven of these airports saw a decrease in cargo traffic, while freight rates at three other airports, including Kennedy International Airport, rose less than 1%. Like most statistics, generalized numbers can be misleading, ignoring some deep-seated changes. In fact, almost all of these airports have been negatively affected by the very weak domestic market. At present, the domestic market has been divided into integration
