中国当代艺术自上世纪九十年代以来充满活力,这一强劲的势头打开了中国艺术通向国际市场的大门。然而少数知名艺术家的光辉吸引了西方大众的眼光,从某种程度上掩盖了中国艺术的多元性和复杂性。艺术市场的参与者与艺术机构多被反映毛泽东时代意识形态的艺术形象所吸引,尤其是由于这种艺术形象是被汉化了的波普艺术,因而变得更加易懂,更易于被西方接受。而在很长时间里,那些需要更深层次的文化积淀以及追溯审美根源才能被鉴赏的作品却被艺术市场的参与者所忽
The vitality of Chinese contemporary art since the nineties of the last century has opened the door to the opening of Chinese art to international markets. However, the glory of a few well-known artists attracted the Western public’s view, to some extent, to cover up the diversity and complexity of Chinese art. The participants in the art market and the art institutions are often attracted by the ideological image of Mao Zedong era. Especially because this art image is popularized Pop Art, it becomes more understandable and easier to be accepted by the West. For a long time, however, works that required deeper appreciation of the cultural heritage and appreciation of their aesthetic roots were appreciated by participants in the art market
