Bei Daning’s style of study is absolutely anti-tradition, but at the same time he claims he is a Confucian. On the one hand, he hopes to entertain, on the other hand, he does not want to offend but still wants to condemn the Western academic and cultural prejudices. Because he thinks it is the duty of the Confucian educator to be “an ethically responsible individual who is obliged to resist the extreme expansion of the mainstream fashion in order to maintain a balance.” So those who believe that academics should be “objective” and those who embrace People like modernity, such as the inviolability of individual rights, democratically elected workers, the contractual security of labor and the evils of prostitution, should be prepared for a correction.
