As early as in Western modernism, there was a trust relationship between film writers and audiences. The audience hoped to see the director influence the thoughts and life of the film director with his author’s point of view. In the context of postmodern consumer culture, the relationship between movie authors and audiences has been replaced by the economic relationship between consumers and producers. Under the consumer culture, the production of films for the purpose of making profits is a service to the audience.
