人类文明的发展和传承离不开艺术创作的过程,而艺术创作本身也是创造的过程,从原始社会时期的石器时代起,人类就从未停止对设计的探索,设计在不断地改变生产工具的同时,也不断地推动着生产力的发展,使人类的生存、生活方式及社会形态不断地向前发展。可以说,发展一个民族的民间美术既是对民间传统文化的传承,也是在发展创造着新的文化。中国作为历史悠久的文明古国,各地都不乏具有地域特色和文化背景的民间艺术。然而,在现代文明的冲击下,一方面在设计教学中出现的大量复制和盲目模仿的现象,导致大量设计作品处于缺乏内容的形而上的尴尬境地,而另一方面,大批具有较高历史、科学和文化价值的优秀民间艺术因传承无序而失去市场甚至消亡。如何让民间美术走出低谷,在平面设计教学中得到有效的传承和发展,是对当下平面设计教学改革提出的时代命题,对于新形势下中国创意产业的和谐发展也将发挥积极的推进作用。
