The Improvised Explosive Device (IED), known for its Iraq war, dates back to the invention of explosives. Low cost, the difficulty of reconnaissance, drawing convenience is the main reason for its global distribution. Any bombs made using existing or temporarily manufactured materials can be referred to as improvised explosive devices. For example, a bottle filled with petrol, a strip of cloth sealed in a bottle, and a match are readily available improvised explosive devices. Materials available for improvised explosive devices include commercial or military explosives, self-made explosives or military equipment and equipment components. The United States and NATO already have systematic countermeasures against improvised explosive devices.
