Objective: To investigate the effect of resting cerebral infarction (SCl) and white matter damage (WML) on motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods: The PD patients with no history of stroke, cephalic CT findings, age and duration of disease were selected and the incidence of SCI and WML after 3 years and the effect on PD motor function were observed. Results: The incidence of SCI and WML in patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus was significantly higher than those without SCI and WML (P <0.05). The scores of motor function in patients with SCI and WML were significantly higher than those without SCI and WML (P <0.01). Conclusion: Prevention of cerebral ischemic injury has an important clinical significance in retarding the progression of PD and controlling the symptoms.
