In the face of the increasingly serious border crisis in the late Qing Dynasty, Song Jiaoren actively wrote books and stabbed himself to address the current problems surrounding the border issue and elucidated a series of unique views from a global perspective and academic level. Because his remarks are often based on actual investigations, and most of them can cut through the crux of the problem, they are quite credible and persuasive. They are not conducive to arousing people’s crisis awareness and facilitating the resolution of border disputes.
