Warning: Many commonly used drugs may inhibit sexual desire. However, your doctor may not always know it - or, knowing it without telling you. An employee at an Air Force Base was diagnosed with chronic hypertension at the age of 30 and the doctor prescribed a common diuretic to control the symptoms. A few years later, the man showed impotence. The doctor told him to stop taking medicine and his sexual function returned to normal one week later. Unfortunately, hypertension also recurred. So the doctor gave him another widely used antihypertensive drugs, the results of this man again impotence. The doctor tested the third drug for seven years now and he had never had any problems with sex. The above situation is not uncommon, it is not disclosed. Teresa Crenshaw, a San Diego therapist and coauthor of “Sexology,” said: “There are so many drugs that can cause sexual harassment, so much so that I have given them a name that is ecstasy.”
