十月七日至十二日,由中央戏剧学院等十一个单位发起,在北京举行中国话剧文学学术讨论会,参加会议的有全国高校、研究机关的中国话剧研究人员百人左右。夏衍、曹禺、王瑶、吴祖光、张颖、刘厚生、陈瘦竹、葛一虹、徐晓钟、丁扬中等参加了会议,夏衍、曹禺作了重要讲话。这次会议主要研讨了如何开创中国话剧文学研究的新局面,就中国话剧史、话剧作家作品、戏剧观、戏剧研究方法等方面作了深入探讨并提交了三十多篇学术论文。代表们认为清除‘左’的影响,提高话剧艺术质量,
From October 7 to 12, a series of seminars on Chinese drama literature were held in Beijing, including the Central Academy of Drama and other 11 units. About 100 Chinese opera researchers from universities and research institutions in the country participated in the conference. Xia Yan, Cao Yu, Wang Yao, Wu Zuguang, Zhang Ying, Liu Housheng, Chen Shouzhu, Ge Yixiao, Xu Xiaozhong and Ding Yang attended the meeting. Xia Yan and Cao Yu made important speeches.
