Pre-stack reflectance data analysis is highly discriminating when evaluating the petrophysical properties of underground targets. Reliable recovery of seismic response is very important, it depends strictly on the acquisition and processing steps, which is particularly evident when examining AVO changes. To evaluate the effects of different treatments, we examined the AVO response of the three seismic events on a maritime data set. Well data show that these events correspond to brown sand, gas sand and volcanic slag rock formations. The AVO analysis focuses mainly on gas-bearing sand reflections. In particular, we compare the results of standard treatment programs based on the surface agreement with the treatment procedures for this particular case. AVO decline in reflected waves from gas-bearing sandstones is the result of standard and surface-consistent data processing. This is exactly the opposite of the theoretical and actual well data.
