一、对身份认同疾呼的语言黑人一直追求身份的认同,也对自己的民族文化受到狭隘定义持排斥的态度,小说中的女主人公Celie正是运用语言来形成自己的身份。举例来说,Celie一直都在用黑人英语写信,可是她的妹妹Nettie却不是这样。Nettie受教育的时候学习的是白人文化,除此之外,传教士及妻子对Nettie也产生了十分重要的影响,所以Nettie都一直用标准的英语来写信。Celie一直坚持用黑人英语写信,并以此来构建自己的社会地位,这与希望她接触白人文化的妹妹产生了分歧。标准英语和黑人英语之间存在很大的不同,如在“The same
