新仙女木期(Younger Dryas)的命名来源于欧洲斯堪的纳维亚埋藏在地下的CtopertalaDryas植物的叶子和果实.这种植物是当地新仙女木期(简称YD)气候变冷的指示物.欧洲早在一个世纪以前就认识到YD的存在.后来北大西洋沿岸地区的许多孢粉资料证实,西欧及北美许多地方在11~10ka B.P.~(14)C年代时气候发生突变.由于当时缺乏该区以外YD事件的资料,因此YD事件被认为是局部性事件,并认为其原因很可能是晚冰期全球性增温使北极的浮冰和冰融水注入北大西洋深层水(NADW)形成的,造成北大西洋地区温度迅速下降,气候变冷.近20年来南欧、北美东部、南阿尔卑斯山、太平洋和南极、北极格陵兰地区的孢粉、冰碛物、冰芯等都指示出Younger Dryas时期的气候剧变.在中国青藏高原湖区和内蒙古孔赉诺尔湖以及陕西沙漠/黄土过渡带高分辨率湖沼泥炭记录中也均发现在11~10ka B.P.期间气候有明显的突变.这引起了学者们对YD的浓厚的兴趣,并认为这个事件可能是一个全球性气候事件.本文以1992年中美联合在青藏高原古里雅冰帽钻取的长达308m的高分辨率冰芯为对象,以该冰芯155~162m之间对应于晚冰期向全新世过渡段的δ ~(18)O测试结果为依据,研究了记录在古里雅冰芯中的YD气候事件.因其测年的高分辨率,它是中国唯一可与格陵兰冰芯晚?
Younger Dryas is named after the leaves and fruits of the CtopertalaDryas plants buried in the ground in Scandinavia, Europe, an indicator of the climatic coldness of the new Nymphaea nigra (YD).
