腊月二十三,俗称“过小年”,民间素有“祭灶神”的习俗。 灶神是谁?为何要祭他?灶神,旧时称灶王爷、灶君菩萨、锅灶神君。唐人殷成式《酉阳杂俎》卷十四载:“灶神名隗,状如美女。又姓张,名禅,字子郭。”他是天帝派到人间每家每户的“特务”。人们祭祀他是希望他上天对玉皇大帝多美言几句。有的人用灶糖敬他,好把他的牙齿粘住,使他不便乱说;有的人用酒糟涂抹灶门,使灶神醉得不能说话;也有的人用猪头、黄羊、鲜鱼、豆沙、粉饵等祭祀,灶神受到了人们的特殊招待,“吃了人家的嘴短”,就不好讲坏话了。 On the twelfth lunar month twenty-three, commonly known as “a small year”, known as the folk “sacrifice Zao God” custom.
