In a 3-year survey of the relationship between pesticide exposure and fetal development in a population of 120,000 rural residents, we found that the frequency of use of certain pesticides was associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. This article reports a prospective epidemiological study that validated the above results in this population. Subjects were surveyed under the age of 49 married women who have not been sterilized, of which women with pregnancy outcomes from January 1, 1988 to December 31, 1989 should be investigated. Each pregnancy should fill in a questionnaire . The survey included the use of 14 commonly used pesticides during pregnancy (exposure indicators), pregnancy outcomes (health effects indicators) and possible confounding variables in 42 groups.
