通州东部,毗邻河北,有个宋庄,宋庄有个小堡。十年之前,小堡不过是宋庄的一个普通村子。青砖灰瓦的院落是小堡的主要建筑。雨打日晒中深褐色的老式花格子窗户,疾风劲吹中沙沙作响的房顶荒草,和那院子一起构出一幅略显古朴的图画。十年之后,小堡的主要建筑被艺术家工作室和美术馆取代,豪华的别墅也不时在农家院落中昂然地探出头来。一起在这个村子的土地上冒出来的,还有小堡艺术广场、艺术一条街以及大大小小的几十家餐馆和画店。华丽的路灯在夜色中满街闪耀,8个路口的摄像头记录着车往人来。938路公交,也把人们对通州县城的心理距离,缩短至半个小时。改变,源自一个偶然的因缘。1995年前后,圆明园画家村被强制解散,“惶惶如丧家之犬”的画家们四处寻觅新的落脚点,试图能躲得离市区更远一点。栗宪庭——这位中国现代美术的“教父”级人物发现了宋庄。便宜的房租,清静的环境,也使一些穷画家最终躲了过来。过来的画家越来越多,宋庄一不小心成为当代艺术家的聚集地。方力钧、刘晓东、杨少斌、岳敏君等著名青年艺术家的名字,和这个曾经默默无闻的小镇联系在一起。小堡,则是宋庄几个村子中画家最集中的一个,如今栗宪庭已经成为宋庄的“精神领袖”。宋庄值得一去。
