几年前,日本富士胶卷公司的研究人员发展了一种可擦除并可重复使用的X射线成像板.这种成像板是用柔性塑料制成,约0.5mm厚,上面涂有光致激发磷光晶体(BaFBr:Eu~(2+))粉末.这种粉末与某种有机粘合剂掺在一起,较易粘在塑料板上,粉末涂层的典型厚度为150μm.当用X射线、紫外光、电子束或质子束照射成像板(光致激发磷光晶体)时,它能从照射中吸收部分能量并贮存起来;再用可见光或红外射线照射,它就会发光,其发光强度与所吸收的射线能量成正比.这种现象通常叫做光致激发发光(PSL).近来,在X射线衍射和自动照相术实验中,研究人员用这种成像板探测器,对X射线的强度进行了定量测量.实验表明:成像板比普通的X射线胶片效果好得多.在其他X射线探测器(如X射线电视摄像机、固体成像装置及气体电离型面积探测器)中也有着极强的竞争力.
