在植物病原微生物和植物病毒的理论工作及实际工作中,经常遇到两个迫切的问题:如何能够以最迅速同时又最正确的方法,来诊断植物病害的病原,以便确定病害的性质;如何能够可靠地鉴别植物病原微生物间的亲缘关系。关于这两个问题的解决,以前而且现在仍然占据统治地位的是以病状、病原微生物的生物化学、培养等特性作根据的方法。显然这些特性由于不同环境因素的影响,变异度极大,因之常常得不出可靠的结果,最后仍需要依赖手续极度复杂的,条件要求极为严格的接种试验,间接求证.为了迅速并正确的解决这两个问题,苏联的植病工作者,在最近期间,研究出一种以抗原与抗体相互作用作基础的血清学方法(СЕРОЛОГИЛЕЕКИЕМЕТОДПКЧЫ).这个方法在植物病理学中,不论在理论上或实际运用上解决了很多的重要问题.当然这个方法作为植物病理学内的一个普遍法则,还有很多问题需要进一步研究,但毫无疑问的,像在医学上所表现的一样,在植物病理学中,将同样地具有极丰富、极辽阔的发展远景.植物病理学中血清诊断滴定法,是苏联著名植物学家都宁(М.С.ДУНИН)教授及其助手们,在长期实际运用的经验基础上,概括、精炼而成的一项创作,不但适用于教学,而且也是目前植物病理学中一项先进技术,我们要创造性的来运用它,掌握它!
