基于IODP建议书695号,IODP351航次将在伊豆-小笠原-马里亚纳弧(IBM)的奄美三立盆地钻探,获取盆地的沉积与基岩的记录,揭示其起源和演化(图1)。IODP351航次主要科学目标是:(1)根据地壳岩石学和年代学推断的地幔地球化学特征来确定IBM幔源的来源;(2)获得IBM生成和发展的记录,了解晚中生代古近纪东特提斯古海洋学和新近纪东亚季风状况;(3)确定早期隆起或下陷是否是与俯冲开始相关。IODP351航次预计2014年5月30—7月30日实施,航次首席科学家由澳大利亚国立大学地球科学研
Based on IODP Recommendation 695, the IODP 351 voyage will be drilled in the Amami-Sanri Basin of the Izu-Ogasawara-Mariana Arc for sediment and bedrock records and to reveal its origin and evolution (Figure 1). The main scientific objectives of IODP 351 voyage are: (1) to determine the source of the IBM mantle source based on mantle geochemical features deduced from crustal petrology and geochronology; (2) to obtain records of IBM formation and evolution and to understand the paleo-Mesozoic Eton Tees paleoceanography and Neocene East Asian monsoon; (3) Determine whether early uplift or subsidence is related to the onset of subduction. IODP351 voyage is expected to be conducted from May 30 to July 30, 2014. The voyage chief scientist is from Earth Science Institute of Australian National University
