渗碳齿轮表面异常层的改善已有多方面的尝试。采用喷丸强化在齿轮表面异常层上增加残余压应力的方法对提高齿轮弯曲疲劳强度和接触疲劳强度是十分有效的。日本已把喷丸强化应用于汽车渗碳齿轮的大量生产中。
There have been many attempts to improve the surface layer of carburized gears. The use of shot peening to increase the residual compressive stress on the abnormal surface layer of the gear is very effective in improving the bending fatigue strength and contact fatigue strength of gears. Japan has shot peening used in the mass production of car carburized gears.
