With the development of information processing technology and computer technology, powder magnetic material has become a fine chemical product with great potential for development. In 1980, the world market value of tape alone exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars and grew by 15% annually. The world total output of ferrite has more than 100,000 tons, the value of more than 1.4 billion US dollars. In 1985, the market value of some high-tech products such as floppy disks for computers reached 4 billion U.S. dollars and the total value of magnetic bubble domains, magneto-optical, magnetic holography and vertical recording materials reached 1 billion U.S. dollars. Magnetic fluid is a colloidal new material, which has a wide range of applications in many new technologies. In this paper, the preparation progress of γ-Fe 2 O 3 magnetic recording powder, spinel ferrite powder and ultrafine particles Fe 3 O 4 in magnetic fluid are introduced in detail.
